Lion Dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture. Lion Dance features prominently in New Year's Parades and other celebrations throughout the year.The lions express joy and happiness. Lion Dance also plays an important role in the consecration of temples and other buildings, at business openings, planting, harvest times and official celebrations. Having a Lion Dance team perform at a wedding is becomeing more popular in the United States. There are even Lion Dance competitions featuring troupes from countries as far as China.
